You sign plain English. Nothing else.
Signing a forecast here cannot move money. This page shows exactly what you sign, what we never ask for, and how to tell this site from a copy.
Use an empty wallet
You don't need any money in it. Make a new wallet just for this, in its own browser profile, and never send funds to it. If everything else failed, there would be nothing to take.
The exact text you sign
Your wallet shows a short message like this one. Only the question and your chance change.
brierindex.com forecast URI: https://brierindex.com/practice Question: BTC above 95000 USD on 2026-11-04 (asked 2026-10-28) My chance: 62% Version: 1 This only records a forecast. It does not log you in, move funds or approve anything.
Check that the first line says brierindex.com forecast and that your browser's address bar says brierindex.com. If they don't match, close the page.
What we never ask for
- A transaction, a transfer or a payment, of any size.
- An "approve", a "permit", an allowance or typed data.
- A network switch, a new token or a sign-in.
- Your seed phrase or private key. Nobody legitimate ever does.
We only ever ask for your address and a signature of the text above. If your wallet shows anything else, it is not us: close the page. We never send DMs, never run airdrops and never ask you to connect anywhere else.
What happens to your signature
We store it with your address, the question, your chance and the day it arrived, to grade it and to study how readers forecast. We never publish your address or your forecast. Every day, a fingerprint of each signature (its SHA-256) goes into a public list that is stamped in the Bitcoin blockchain, mixed with random entries so the list never shows how many people signed. Only someone holding your signature can find yours in it. Details on the privacy page.
Which wallets work
Browser wallets that announce themselves the standard way, such as MetaMask, or Phantom with its Ethereum or Solana account. Smart-contract wallets and Ledger accounts inside Phantom don't work yet. One forecast per question per wallet; the first one counts. A record belongs to a wallet, not a person.
